Kevin Nash Refused To Lose To 3-Time WWE Champion
WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash has admitted that he refused to lose to this three-time WWE champion.
Kevin Nash’s career really took off when he joined WWE in 1993 and was immediately paired up on-screen with Shawn Michaels. Less than a year after his TV debut in the company as Diesel, he had captured the Intercontinental and Tag Team Championships, and even more was to come.
In November 1994, Diesel dethroned Bob Backlund in eight seconds to become WWE Champion. He held that gold for almost a year before dropping the title to Bret Hart at the 1995 Survivor Series. And six months later, Diesel was gone from WWE.
Re-emerging as Kevin Nash in WCW, Big Sexy’s career hit new heights as one of the founding members of the NWO. But before he departed for “down south,” Vince McMahon wanted a favour from his wantaway star, one that Nash was unwilling to do.
Kevin Nash Would Not Lose To The Ultimate Warrior
Just weeks before Nash’s departure, WWE had brought back The Ultimate Warrior, who had run roughshod over Triple H at WrestleMania 12. Speaking on his Kliq This podcast, Nash noted McMahon wanted him to lose to Warrior as well, but he flat out refused:
I wasn’t going to put [Ultimate] Warrior over on f**king Raw. I said no.
Warrior only had one televised Raw match before Nash left the company, and that saw the WWE Hall of Famer defeat the evil dentist, Isaac Yankem DDS.
Kevin Nash recently revealed which female star he thinks could have joined the original NWO.
