Kevin Nash Credits 2 WWE Legends For Teaching Him The Wrestling Process
WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash has opened up about his early career in wrestling, crediting fellow legends Scott Hall and Shawn Michaels for their pivotal role in shaping his understanding of the business.
Speaking on his podcast, Kliq This, Kevin Nash shared how the duo’s guidance was instrumental during his early days in WWE, starting in 1993.
“Scott Hall and Shawn Michaels were the most instrumental because when I was the Diesel character and was the bodyguard outside, it was just the three of us travelling, I just basically watched the entire process. How you talked about the match in the car, how you went into the building, changed things, went to the ring, worked the match, came back, tweaked, took out.”
Nash described the time spent with Hall and Michaels as a deep dive into the art of professional wrestling, learning not only the in-ring craft but also the psychology and preparation behind a match. From discussing strategies on the road to fine-tuning performances after matches, Hall and Michaels provided Nash with what he called a “masterclass” in wrestling.
“It was just from psychology work, just to learn the proper way to do the whole process.”
Hall and Michaels, like Nash, were part of the Kliq, a backstage group of wrestlers known for their close bond and influence in WWE during the mid-1990s. Their mentorship helped Nash transition from his initial role as an enforcer into a polished main-event star and eventual WWE Champion.
What Was The Reason The Kliq Had Heat With Bam Bam Bigelow According To Kevin Nash?
Kevin Nash spoke about why the Kliq had heat with Bam Bam Bigelow and that it stemmed from travel arrangements whilst the WWE was on a European tour. Nash said that Bigelow got upset with the Kliq because they were all travelling on one bus together, despite the company’s policy of having separate heel and babyface buses.
