Kevin Nash Blasts Hulk Hogan Critics After His Death
Kevin Nash has no time for Hulk Hogan’s critics as he reacts to his friend and fellow WWE Hall of Famer’s death.
On July 24th, the news broke that Hulk Hogan had passed away at the age of 71. Conflicting reports surrounding Hogan’s health had made the rounds in the weeks and months before his death due to a cardiac arrest.
WWE paid tribute to Hulk Hogan on SmackDown, while his old WCW colleague Tony Schiavone paid his own tribute to Hogan on Collision. Both Schiavone and Cody Rhodes mentioned the complicated legacy Hogan leaves behind because as well as being a wrestling and pop culture icon, Hogan was also caught up in a racism storm that he never atoned for.
But Kevin Nash doesn’t want to hear the criticism.
Kevin Nash Tells Hulk Hogan Critics To Shut The F*ck Up
Speaking on his Kliq This podcast, Hogan’s old NWO partner, Kevin Nash, explained why he was so surprised to hear the news of Hogan’s death and that he’s not happy with the people he was receiving information from, who seemed to indicate that Hogan was in better condition than he really was:
They always called him ‘The Immortal’ Hulk Hogan and to me, man, it was just like— even when I heard what Bubba was saying, I just knew he’d kick out. I just knew. I knew I’d get on the phone with him. I mean, I just knew. And when it was just that… you know… I was really kind of hot with some people that I was getting information from.
And the whole thing was—especially when it first went down—I was still here in Florida, and, you know, Terry’s two hours from my house. So, I mean, I could get in my car and pop over there. Even if I had to put a mask on if he was worried about germs— or, you know, talk through the [bleep] front door, through the glass slider.
Two weeks ago, if I’d made the drive out there, if somebody had told me what kind of condition [he was in], I wouldn’t have needed five minutes. After four minutes of putting each other over, I would have just said: ‘I love you.’ Thanks for the rub.
Nash continued, taking aim at Hogan’s vocal critics and asked them to think about Hogan’s children who have just lost their father:
I know Nick and his dad were super, super tight. They spent every day together. For the people who want to go after Hogan for doing this or that—You know what? How about f*ck you, man. He’s dead. How about his kids, man? Can you just lay off the man? Ain’t nothing going to change now. It’s sensationalism. It’s ‘I never liked him anyway.’ Who gives a f*ck? Think about his kids. Think about his friends and his family and if you don’t have anything good to say—Shut the f*ck up.
