Why Kenny Omega’s AEW Return Could Still Come In 2024
As Kenny Omega continues to recover from a serious illness, one AEW star has given the latest timeframe on his return to the ring.
Kenny Omega hasn’t been seen on AEW TV since he was the victim of a brutal assault by Jack Perry, Kazuchika Okada, and The Young Bucks back in May. The attack by the new version of The Elite saw Omega being taken out of the arena on a stretcher, only for the group to catch up with him and throw him on the ground before he could be loaded into an ambulance.
In the months since Kenny Omega has undergone surgery for diverticulitis and is on the road to recovery. Recently, the star was over in Japan training with his longtime friend and tag team partner Kota Ibushi.
Kenny Omega Back Before 2025?
Now it’s Kota Ibushi who has given the latest update on Omega’s condition as he put a new timeframe on a possible return for the former AEW World Champion while appearing on Yuji Nagata’s YouTube channel.
Ibushi noted that “it’s going to take about two to three more months” before Kenny Omega can return to the ring. That timeframe means it’s possible Omega could be back in an AEW ring before the end of 2024 and it could mean he’s also available to take part in NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom on January 4th if needed.
