Kenny Omega To Will Ospreay – “I Forgive You”

Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega has “forgiven” Will Ospreay following their Wrestle Kingdom match.

The Wrestling Kingdom 17 match between Ospreay and Omega was as much about pride as it was about glory. In the build-up, Omega claimed that he was coming back to New Japan because Ospreay was an unsuitable replacement for him after he left for AEW.

Ospreay and Omega had an incredible and brutal match in the penultimate spot on the card. They fought for 34 minutes. Ospreay was busted open and got smashed through a table.

Omega smashed a hole through that same table and nearly smashed a hole through Ospreay. They hit each other with many of the high-risk daredevilry that made them both famous.

The match ended as a defiant and bloody Will Ospreay spat on Omega and said ‘f**k you’ to Omega, only for Omega to retaliate with a One-Winged Angel for the pin and the three-count.

But despite the intensity and passion with which both men wrestled, Kenny Omega appears to have respect for Will Ospreay now.

After the match, Omega took to Twitter to say that he respects Ospreay’s passion:

“Yesterday at #njwk17 we desperately raced towards the same goal and were willing to break our bodies for it. That kind of passion I can respect. I forgive you.”

The following night at New Year’s Dash, Kenny Omega continued his turn towards positivity as he teamed with his former archrival Kazuchika Okada and the two took a photo together.

Omega’s next big match will be on the January 11th episode of AEW Dynamite when he and the Young Bucks take on Death Triangle in the seventh and final match of their Best of Seven Series for the AEW World Trios Championships.
