Kenny Omega Opens Up On His Wrestling Future

Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega has opened up about where he sees his wrestling future amid speculation that the star could be tempted to leave AEW and join WWE in the future.

Kenny Omega has been a key fixture in AEW since the company was founded in early 2019. Omega was named one of the four Executive Vice Presidents in Tony Khan’s company alongside The Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes, with Rhodes later leaving to rejoin WWE in 2022.

Speculation has mounted over Kenny Omega’s own future in AEW with some reports suggesting that the former New Japan Pro Wrestling star is keeping an “open mind” about a switch to WWE.

Speaking to Renee Paquette on The Sessions, Omega noted that it’s not so much about where he sees himself in the future but rather the role he can fulfill:

“Sometimes, you know, the first thing that pops into your mind, is probably how you really feel. And the first thing that came to my mind wasn’t, you know, a venue. It wasn’t a title. It wasn’t some kind of accolade.

“I feel like whatever it is that I can contribute to wrestling, I want to be able to help people in the next generation, realise the potential as quickly as possible or quicker than I was able to, if I can help give anyone advice, or to help push them into a certain direction, that can lead to something good for them career-wise, down the road. That is where I’d like to see myself. I don’t feel like I have too many goals or aspirations of my own anymore.”

Kenny Omega also opened up about the backstage fight following All Out and admits that it was “unnecessary” although noted sometimes these things do happen.
