Kenny Omega Finally Returning To AEW Ring

Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega was back in the ring recently for NJPW but now he knows when his first match in over a year in AEW will take place.

The last time AEW fans saw Kenny Omega in action was all the way back in December 2023 when he picked up a win over Ethan Page. Following that, The Best Bout Machine was diagnosed with diverticulitis which put him on the shelf and left his in-ring future in serious doubt.

Kenny Omega may have been just days from death as a result of the condition that required surgery to remove two feet of his intestinal tract. However, Omega fought back and faced off in an instant classic with Gabe Kidd at Wrestle Dynasty on January 5.

Kenny Omega Faces Don Callis Family’s Machine

Prior to that in-ring return, Kenny Omega answered questions about his AEW future when he made a shock appearance at Worlds End to present Continental Classic winner Kazuchika Okada with his prize. As the two old rivals came face-to-face, the logo for All In Texas was shown ominously in the background hinting at where they might reignite their epic rivalry.

Now Kenny Omega was back on Dynamite on January 8 where he opened up about his health battle over the past year. Omega was later confronted by former manager Don Callis who set Brian Cage, Lance Archer, and Kyle Fletcher on him. Will Ospreay came to Omega’s rescue as he chased The Don Callis Family away. It was then made official that Omega would return to action in AEW on Dynamite Maximum Carnage on January 15 against Brian Cage.
