Kenny Omega Finally Back On AEW TV

Kenny Omega has been out of action for a whole year but ahead of his in-ring comeback, it seems he’s also on his way to his AEW return.

Kenny Omega hasn’t wrestled since being diagnosed with diverticulitis in early December 2023, with his last match coming on December 5th. The former AEW World Champion had hoped to avoid surgery, but he eventually went under the knife in May after making two appearances on Dynamite.

At New Japan Pro Wrestling Power Struggle, Omega returned to the company where he made his name to express his desire to represent AEW against a young member of the NJPW roster at Wrestle Dynasty on January 5th 2025 in the Tokyo Dome although nothing was set in stone at that time.

Kenny Omega ended up in a backstage altercation with Gabe Kidd at that show and since then, Omega has made clear that if Gabe Kidd wants to step up and face him at Wrestle Dynasty then he’d be ready and waiting. That challenge has been accepted and Omega will be back in action in the Tokyo Dome, but perhaps his AEW return is also not too far away.

On Dynamite Holiday Bash, a short video aired highlighting his top moments in the company but gave no indication as to when Omega might be back on AEW TV.
