Kenny Omega-El Hijo Del Vikingo Rematch Announced For AAA TripleMania: Tijuana
A huge match has been announced for TripleMania with Kenny Omega facing the AAA Mega Champion El Hijo Del Vikingo.
On the March 23rd edition of AEW Dynamite, the main event was a “dream match” between former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and the AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo.
For many pro wrestling fans, it was the first time that a lot of them had seen Vikingo, who has been the AAA Mega Champion for over 500+ days going back to December 2021. Prior to Vikingo holding the AAA Mega Championship, Kenny Omega held the title for a whopping 765 days. Omega was forced to vacate the title due to injuries in late 2021.
The AEW Dynamite match between Omega & Vikingo was praised heavily by many people. Kenny Omega took everything that Vikingo could give him, but ultimately Omega was able to put him away in the non-title match.
Due to Kenny Omega beating El Hijo Del Vikingo clean on AEW, the highly anticipated rematch has been announced by AAA. The match will take place at AAA TripleMania on Saturday, July 15th in Tijuana, Mexico. The match was announced at a press conference on Monday.

The Triplemania: Tijuana event is the second of three Triplemania shows that are taking place this year.
This past Wednesday on the April 19th edition of AEW Dynamite, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks (collectively known as The Elite) were beaten up by the Blackpool Combat Club again. However, the group had some help when Don Callis brought Konosuke Takeshita out to make the save, which likely means that The Elite have found themselves an ally.
As for El Hijo Del Vikingo, he beat Dralistico on the April 21st episode of AEW Rampage. After the match, Vikingo was beaten up by Rush, Preston Vance & Dralistico with nobody helping Vikingo. It likely means more AEW matches are coming for Vikingo.
