Keith Lee To AEW Is Likely A “Done Deal” According To New Report
A new report has made the claim that a deal between Keith Lee and AEW has “probably” already been made.
After the February 4th edition of AEW Rampage, AEW President Tony Khan announced that a free agent will be walking through the ‘Forbidden Door’ on the next episode of Dynamite. Khan gave little away but said that a “big announcement” would be made on the show.
“The big announcement for Wednesday’s Dynamite that we referenced on #AEWRampage (a free agent debut) and the person walking through the Forbidden Door are one and the same. They’re walking in the door, signing a contract, and then slamming the door shut Wednesday on #AEWDynamite!”
This news led to a lot of speculation around who the new signing could be. Many fans have been looking at the WWE Superstars who became free agents on February 2nd, while others are hoping for the AEW debut of Jeff Hardy.
With Hardy still restricted by the non-compete clause in his WWE contract until March, a lot of people believe the signing will be Keith Lee.
Dave Meltzer reported on the most recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that, although there has been no official confirmation, Lee becoming All Elite is probably a done deal.
“I know they’ve been talking to Keith Lee, I know that they were pretty close with Keith Lee if it’s not already a done deal. It probably is a done deal. I don’t know that ‘officially’, but that’s kind of been the word going around.”
Keith Lee hasn’t been seen in a ring since defeating Cedric Alexander on the October 25th 2021 episode of WWE Raw. Despite only recently being given a new gimmick and renamed Keith “Bearcat” Lee, the star was released from the company on November 4th.
