Karrion Kross is sharing interesting insights about WWE creative.

The 40-year-old has been embroiled in a storyline with Sami Zayn that has gotten real personal, real quick.

Since losing to Zayn at WWE Night of Champions, Kross has launched multiple attacks on the Canadian sensation and not just through fists and boots.

Kross’ weapon of choice has been a steel rod, which he has used to its full potential on Zayn’s ribs.

On the July 21 RAW episode, he was able to secure a win against Zayn using underhanded tactics again.

Their match at SummerSlam will have an added stipulation.

If Karrion Kross wins, Zayn must publicly acknowledge that “Kross was right.” Meanwhile, if Zayn wins, Kross must admit, “I was wrong.”

Karrion Kross Discusses Creative Freedom

Karrion Kross has been previously reported to have written his character’s entire manifesto. Despite that, the former NXT Champion, by his own admission, lacks creative freedom.

During a recent chat with WrestleZone, he claimed he would like to be more involved with the writers.

Virtually none. So yeah, not much. I don’t know how much I can say… not much unfortunately. I would love to be more involved with how that comes to life. A lot of times I’m just given what I’m given, and I’m going to do my absolute best to make that as entertaining as possible. [H/T: RingsideNews]

He also admitted that the best time to take creative control is when he is in front of the audience.

What’s really cool about doing anything live in front of the audience—like the in-commercial break—is that’s very free flow. Anytime you ever get in front of the audience, whether you’re in the ring or on the mic, there is an opportunity to allow engagement. But the backstage stuff is very controlled.

SummerSlam will be a two-night event for the first time. Karrion Kross and Sami Zayn will battle it out on Night 1 on August 2.
