Karrion Kross and Scarlett reveal how the co-workers reacted to their WWE release.

In an interview with Denise Salcedo, Killer Kross and his wife revealed that many co-workers were shocked and frustrated by their exit. Several colleagues initially thought the release was a storyline, as they had recently dealt with similar surprises, leading to hesitation in reaching out. Kross mentioned ongoing uncertainty within the locker room, with some peers only learning about his departure minutes before his public announcement.

Karrion Kross: There have been hundreds of people that have come up to the table. A lot of them are really angry because they were hoping it was a work. They were hoping it was going to be a payoff. And I would never work somebody like that. Like it’s to me, it’s like not in good taste.

Scarlett: You don’t mess with your credibility that way, and I feel like it just sours the fans, and you have to be really careful with that.

Karrion Kross: Running an angle where you lose your job and upset people would not be something I would do, and I understand why people thought it was going to be a work. They were hoping it was going to be a work.

Scarlett: Coworkers think it was a work. Like that’s why a lot of people didn’t reach out to us right away, like hey, I was really upset when we found out Seth Rollins’ injury was a work. So we don’t want to feel that way again because it broke our hearts.

Karrion Kross: Literally just 10 minutes ago, don’t say his name, but just 10 minutes ago, somebody we’re working with, he just messaged me. He had no idea. So, a lot of the guys didn’t know. (4:37 – 5:33)
