Karrion Kross Reveals Surprising Reason AEW Didn’t Contact Him After WWE Exit

Several promotions have reached out to Karrion Kross after his WWE exit, but not AEW.

The former NXT Champion recently departed the Stamford-based company after his contract expired. While many thought his exit might be a work, Kross recently refuted these speculations during his interview with Ariel Helwani.

The Devil You Know also cleared the air on whether he was contacted by other promotions following his WWE contract expiry. The 40-year-old admitted that some big promotions have reached out to him. However, he denied that AEW did.

When asked why Tony Khan’s promotion has not approached him following his WWE exit, Kross claimed it was because they believed it was a work.

[Are you surprised?] No. [Why?] A lot of people think it’s a work.

Karrion Kross Revealed Another Surprise About His WWE Exit

In his interview with Ariel Helwani, Karrion Kross went into details on his contract renewal negotiations with the Stamford-based company. He revealed that the promotion did not offer his wife, Scarlett, a new deal.

However, they told him they would deal with her when they were finished with him.

There was no offer to her. I was told at one point, because I did inquire, ‘After we deal with you, we’ll deal with her.’ I don’t see why we couldn’t have done things the way we did them before where we do the deals together. [H/T: Fightful]

The 40-year-old was also given no information on how the company came to the valuation of his offer. Instead, he was told he had only 24 hours to sign the new deal of it would be rescinded.

I got the offer. I wanted to know how they came to the valuation of that offer. Just wanted some information, some metrics, some analytics that’s supporting to, Hey, this is how we got here. When I inquired about that, they were unwilling to provide that information and told me they had 24 hours to agree to the offer or they were [rescinding] it.

The next day, we talk. I ask if they have the information. They don’t. I said, I can’t make an informed decision without the information. I’d like to keep the dialogue open. They [rescinded] the offer, and that’s actually where we’re at.
