What Kane Really Thinks Of Mick Foley Cutting Ties With WWE
Mick Foley has cut ties with WWE due to Donald Trump, but how does the Republican mayor and former WWE Champion Kane feel about it all?
President Trump has been associated with WWE for many years and holds a place in the WWE Hall of Fame. TKO – which owns both WWE and UFC – has cultivated a relationship with Trump, especially through UFC, since his return to power.
Trump sickened many with his crass comments following the murder of Rob Reiner and his wife. Reiner had been a long-time opponent of Trump and his politics, and the President’s comments were a bridge too far for Mick Foley.
Foley issued a public statement noting that he was cutting ties with WWE due to their association with Trump. And now, Republican Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, Glenn Jacobs, best known as Kane, has issued his response.
Kane Thinks Mick Foley Is Wrong
Speaking on Newsmax, Jacobs openly disagreed with Mick Foley’s stance but defended Foley’s right to speak his mind, and noted that he wished civility could return to political discourse:
Well, certainly it’s no surprise. I know where Mick is at politically and we’ve had our discussions about politics. We’ve always been able to keep them civil, and I wish that could happen more on the public platforms altogether.
One thing is we live in a country where we are free to disagree about things. I think Mick is wrong, but nevertheless, he’s entitled to his opinion. I will defend his right to say that, even if I do think he’s wrong. And that’s the beauty of America. I wish that would kind of be all over the place, as opposed to just in wrestling.
WWE CCO Triple H is part of President Trump’s task force to keep the nation’s youth fit and healthy and has appeared beside Trump at the White House on several occasions.
