Judgment Day Explodes As Bron Breakker Loses Out
Bron Breakker’s reign as Intercontinental Champion is over.
Although Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker has appeared at times almost unbeatable during his second run with the gold, the biggest story heading into WrestleMania concerned the Judgment Day.
While the group has arguably never been the same since Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley were kicked to the curb, there are no serious doubts over its long-term future.
For several weeks, Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio have appeared on the brink of all-out war, barely keeping the peace.
Bron Breakker Defeated
Fast forward to April 20 and Allegiant Stadium, and that slender peace was shattered.
Penta appeared to have the match won after a Canadian Destroyer on Dominik Mysterio, but he was pulled out of the ring by Carlito. However, things quickly turned sour for the veteran with Breakker cutting him in two with a Spear from one announce table through a second.
Back in the ring, the crowd was fully behind Mysterio and booing Finn Balor’s attempts to stop him at every turn.
In the closing stages, Balor landed a Slingblade, dropkick, and Coupe De Gras on Breakker, but just as the referee was counting to three, Mysterio broke up the win with a Frag Splash. He immediately pinned Balor to claim a popular win.
Elsewhere on the show, Iyo Sky retained the Women’s World Championship with a stunning win over Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair, while Joe Hendry answered Randy Orton’s open challenge.
