Judge Denies Motion In Ex-WWE Employee Lawsuit

Vince McMahon WWE

A judge has denied the latest motion in one of the lawsuits relating to former WWE employee Janel Grant.

As part of the web of lawsuits relating to her accusations against Vince McMahon, John Lauranaitis, and WWE, Janel Grant’s team filed a pre-action discovery petition against Dr. Carlon Colker and his clinic, Peak Wellness, Inc. This relates to claims from Grant that she was sent to the clinic by Vince McMahon in 2019 and given treatments that were not disclosed to her.

According to Brandon Thurston of POST Wrestling, a Connecticut state court judge has denied Colker’s motion to dismiss the petition. He had argued that the case should be thrown out as it was improperly verified and the information being sought was only to support Grant’s federal lawsuit against McMahon, Lauranaitis, and WWE.

However, in denying the motion, POST Wrestling reports that Judge Colleen Zingaro found that the petition was properly filed and verification issues were corrected, and that Grant had made allegations that could also be pursued in state court, beyond supporting the federal case.

This opens the way for Grant to begin discovery, asking for documents, communications with McMahon, and potentially testimony from Colker and Peak Wellness. The process could lead to Grant bringing civil claims against both parties relating to “civil conspiracy, aiding and abetting, fraud, assault, battery, RICO, RICO conspiracy, and/or breach of fiduciary duty.”

The dispute comes down to a dispute between Colker and Grant over whether he provided medical records and metadata. While Grant says Colker hasn’t provided everything asked for, he claims to have done so “multiple times.”

Doctor At Center Of Vince McMahon Scandal Files Lawsuit Against Janel Grant’s Attorney

As well as the motions above, Dr. Carlon Colker has filed a lawsuit against Janel Grant’s lawyer, Ann Callis. In Grant’s lawsuit against McMahon and WWE, Colker is alleged to have given treatments to Grant at his clinic without disclosing them to her.

Colker has denied any wrongdoing, and in his lawsuit, has alleged that Callis and the Holland Law Firm have made false public statements.
