Jordynne Grace Says Jonathan Gresham’s Will Return After Suffering 2 Strokes
Jonathan Gresham will be back in the ring soon, according to Jordynne Grace.
In early August, Jonathan Gresham revealed that he’d suffered two strokes while at home. He explained that after waking up, he was unable to move the left side of his body, and he was struggling to talk.
As a result, it took him more than 30 minutes to call 911, but once taken to the hospital, he quickly underwent a series of tests. While doctors suggested that the strokes might have been linked to a bad case of COVID-19 two weeks earlier, at the time, the cause remained a mystery.
Jordynne Grace Reveals Jonathan Gresham Is Recovering Well
In a new interview with Adrian Hernandez, Gresham’s wife, Jordynne Grace, was asked about his progress. Despite the severity of the situation, she explained that the former AEW star is already back to 100% and is waiting to be cleared to get back in the ring.
Grace added that Gresham might never know what caused him to have the strokes.
“It was very scary. He’s actually bounced back incredibly well. He’s at 100 percent. He’s cleared right now to do pretty much everything, like work out. Everything besides wrestle. It’s insane, and I said the same thing. I talked to the doctor about it extensively. I was like, ‘This is crazy.’ But they say, basically, he’s so young and that’s why he bounced back so fast.
They’re really now just trying to figure out why this might have happened, but there’s this whole thing of, maybe we’ll never know. Maybe it was just a COVID complication. Sometimes these things just happen.
So hopefully we’ll be able to figure it out at some point, but he will be cleared to go back to wrestling in like a matter of weeks.”
Jordynne Grace is set to face Blake Monroe at NXT Heatwave on August 24. The pair have been locked in an increasingly personal rivalry for several weeks. In the main event, Oba Femi will defend the NXT Championship against Je’Von Evans, while Masha Slamovich and Ash By Elegance will challenge Jacy Jayne for the TNA Women’s Championship.
