Jon Moxley’s Henchman Doesn’t Work For AEW

Jon Moxley AEW

Jon Moxley has been bailed out in recent weeks as anarchy returns to AEW, but his latest protector doesn’t even work for the company.

When Jon Moxley returned to AEW, he insulated himself with his Death Riders as he took the AEW World Championship from Bryan Danielson in heartbreaking fashion.

PAC, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, and Marina Shafir had proved enough to keep that title on Moxley, but in recent weeks, the landscape in the company has changed. A band of AEW stars have come together to combat the Death Riders and look to topple Jon Moxley. The Death Riders have found allies in The Elite, but Moxley has found an insurance policy that has already paid dividends.

When Jon Moxley put his AEW World Title on the line against Samoa Joe at Beach Break, all hell broke loose. The Elite, The Opps, the Death Riders, Swerve Strickland, and Kenny Omega all brawled, leaving an opening for NJPW’s Gabe Kidd to slide Moxley his briefcase, which he used to defeat Joe.

Gabe Kidd Only Works For Jon Moxley

This has led to questions about Kidd’s status in AEW, but according to the man himself, he only works for Moxley.

Speaking in an interview with Sean Ross Sapp, Kidd revealed he doesn’t work for AEW:

I don’t work for AEW. I work for Jon Moxley right now. You can say what you want, but I have my purpose, my vision, my path. That’s what I’m doing right now. F*ck all the noise. It’s about what I’m trying to accomplish, what we are trying to accomplish.

However, Kidd was less forthcoming about his relationship with Moxley came to be:

None of your business. The important thing is that it did, and it happened, and it’s happening. It’s a very crazy collaboration of people getting together and working towards the same goal. Don’t worry about how it came about, just be happy that it did.

Gabe Kidd was not named as one of the 12 competitors in Anarchy In The Arena, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be around at Double Or Nothing to help Moxley claim another win.
