Jon Moxley’s First AEW International Title Defence Announced
Jon Moxley has little time to rest following two back-to-back pay-per-view matches.
AEW has announced that Moxley will make the first defence of the International Championship on the September 6th episode of Dynamite, which will be the first episode of the flagship show following All Out. The former AEW World Champion won the International title for the first time in his career after defeating former champion Orange Cassidy in the main event of the show. Moxley’s opponent for the show will be AR Fox, who is the fresher man as he did not compete at All In or All Out.
The International Title match is now the fourth match officially announced for the All Out fallout episode of Dynamite. Other matches confirmed include Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara starting their quest for tag team gold as they take on Aussie Open and the first two matches in the Grand Slam World Title Eliminator Tournament.
Will Jon Moxley Feel The Effects Of All In?
Moxley has not been taking it easy in recent months. At All In The Blackpool Combat Club member competed in the largest Stadium Stampede match in the history of the promotion as the chaotic match took place inside Wembley. A bloody Mox was seen having skewers driven into his head and driven through barbed wire boards.
While Moxley did not shed any blood at All Out, the match itself was another physical affair and took everything he had to finally put down Cassidy for the 3 count. Fans saw what frequent title defences did to the former International Champion as he got more and more beat up with each match, only just surviving the final encounters. It will be interesting to see how Moxley copes with the onslaught of physicality week after week.
