Jon Moxley “Wrong” Set To Cost AEW A Lot Of Money
A former WWE star has waded into the lawsuit facing AEW and Jon Moxley that accuses them of negligence and battery.
Sports Illustrated reported that Christopher Dispensa, a long-time production crew member who started contract work with AEW back in 2019, has filed a suit in the Wayne County Circuit Court on May 30th. The lawsuit accuses AEW of various degrees of negligence by AEW and Jon Moxley, with allegations of civil assault and battery made against the AEW World Champion.
The suit centres around allegations during Moxley’s steel cage match with Kenny Omega on the May 10th 2023, edition of Dynamite. When Jon Moxley went to retrieve a screwdriver to attack his opponent, he is said to have pushed Dispensa to the ground. The push was unplanned, and as a result, Dispensa took an unexpected fall, according to the allegations.
Lance Storm Thinks AEW & Jon Moxley Have Questions To Answer
The injuries Dispensa is said to have suffered as a result of Moxley’s actions – that Dispensa’s legal team are calling civil assault and battery – are said to have been to his neck and shoulder. Dispensa alleges that the injuries suffered led to him undergoing cervical fusion surgery, shoulder surgery, and treatment for other unspecified injuries.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, former WWE star Lance Storm had his say on the situation and noted that wrestlers should not be touching production staff:
You can’t shove production people like that. So there’s definitely a wrong committed that’s probably going to cost them a lot of money. The bump did not look like requiring neck and shoulder surgery, but I’m presuming that he will have some medical records to back up his case. Dude took a decent bump so it’s probably not looking good.
