Jon Moxley Teases Reforming Team In AEW

Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley may be looking back at his past in wrestling as he moves forward in AEW.

At AEW Dynamite Grand Slam, Jon Moxley defeated Darby Allin to earn the right to challenge for the AEW World Title. Moxley, who is the only three-time AEW World Champion in company history, will challenge Bryan Danielson for the AEW World Title this Sunday, October 12th at WrestleDream.

The matchup between Moxley and Danielson will be very personal at WrestleDream since they were allies in the Blackpool Combat Club for over two years. However, Moxley turned on his friend by putting a plastic bag over his head at AEW All Out.

Since the attack on Danielson, Moxley has aligned himself with two thirds of the AEW Trios Tag Team Champions Claudio Castagnoli and Pac, along with Marina Shafir, who is married to AEW’s Roderick Strong.

That group of Moxley, Castagnoli, Pac & Shafir are not officially known as the Blackpool Combat Club even though Moxley & Castagnoli were in that group.

In a social media post by “Gimmick Attorney” Mike Dockins, he posted a picture of himself and Jon Moxley with a trademark filing.

Per the USPTO certificate, Moxley filed for the trademark of “Switchblade Conspiracy” in March. It’s unknown if that will be the name of Moxley’s new AEW group or if it is for something else.

Jon Moxley Trademarking “Switchlade Conspiracy” Is A Link To His Past

What’s interesting about the “Switchblade Conspiracy” name is that it’s something that Moxley used earlier in his career when he teamed up with current TNA Wrestling star Sami Callihan. They have reunited for matches in The Wrestling Revolver, which Callihan runs.

It was reported in October 2023 that Jon Moxley wanted Sami Callihan to join AEW, but it didn’t happen. It certainly could happen whenever Callihan is a free agent and perhaps he could join Moxley’s group as well.
