Jon Moxley Recalls Sewing His Own Nipple Back On
Jon Moxley has recounted a bizarre incident that saw him reattach his own nipple.
The current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion is no stranger to blood and gore given his famed hardcore style, so it isn’t overly surprising that he found himself in a fairly unique situation following a 2010 bout with Jimmy Jacobs.
The Cincinatti native discussed the bout during a recent appearance on Hey! (EW), revealing that his nipple had been badly damage during the contest, with those in the arena shocked by the graphic nature of the injury.
Somewhat more shocking was the treatment that followed. Moxley was not a top name in the industry at the time, so instead of heading to the hospital to have trained medical professionals deal with the issue, he opted instead to save valuable cash and simple sew it back on himself:
“No, it wasn’t bad at all. I sewed it right back on. Yeah, it was…flipping there for a while and like I showed it to everybody and like we had a conversation and then until everybody kind of got over it and then we’re in Canada.
So they said it would take forever at the emergency room and probably cost money I didn’t have. So back then anything I could self fix or go to urgent care and then years later I still be getting bills from stitches I got 10 years ago. I’m pretty sure I took care of them all by now.”
Jon Moxley Opponent For Double Or Nothing Confirmed
Moxley has been a busy man since capturing the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship from Tetsuya Naito at NJPW Windy City Riot on 12th April, successfully defending his newly won title on three occasions.
The 38 year-old is set to do battle with Konosuke Takeshita in a World Title Eliminator match at Double or Nothing on May 26th, with Takeshita receiving a shot at Moxley’s title should he claim victory in Las Vegas.
