Jon Moxley Reveals Gruesome Injury After AEW Worlds End
Jon Moxley was involved in a war at AEW Worlds End.
Moxley competed in not one but two matches during the evening, both involving hard-hitting opponents who would stop at nothing to get the result in their favor.
Competing as part of the Continental Classic tournament, Moxley first faced Kyle Fletcher in the semi-final match.
During the bout, Fletcher targeted the 40-year-old’s leg by trapping it between the steel post and the stairs.
After stomping the stairs, the Australian wrestler pulled them away, causing the Purveyor of Violence to trip. In the process, he stumbled face-first on the steps, chipping his tooth, which affected him throughout the match.
Jon Moxley somehow overcame the odds by making Fletcher pass out by applying a chokehold.
In the final, he faced Kazuchika Okada, who beat his compatriot and The Don Callis Family stablemate, Konosuke Takeshita.
Okada, too, attacked Moxley’s injured leg several times, but relied on his heavy-duty attacks to keep his opponent down.
The leader of the Death Riders persevered with the struggle, but managed to mount a comeback, hitting a Death Rider for the successfull pinfall and win the AEW Continental Championship.
After the match, he cut a promo, praising his challengers and even thanking the fans for their support.
