Jon Moxley Praised For Helping AEW Star With Promos

Jon Moxley was more than happy to help out.

Despite previously being told her career was over thanks to a series of serious neck injuries, Saraya made a remarkable return to the ring in 2022 with AEW. The British star made her debut at Dynamite Grand Slam in September before quickly entering into a feud with Britt Baker.

Saraya has been close friends with Renee Paquette for several years, and as a result, has also gotten to know her husband Jon Moxley. In fact, the star has repeatedly credited Moxley with helping her join AEW.

During an appearance on Izzy On Sports, Saraya discussed her friendship with Moxley, revealing he helped her improve her promos.

“Jon Moxley actually helped me a lot. One of my best friends is Renee. I’m friends with the hubby, too. He was one of the catalysts and getting me over to AEW as well. He was on the phone with me and stuff like that,” she explained.

“I was just like, ‘I just need help I don’t feel confident in myself.’ So, that promo with me and Britt [Baker] where I’m being real. I’m talking about real-life stuff. Like yeah, I am sober. Yeah, I was a mess. Yes, the world saw my tapes go on the friggin’ internet, just all the struggles that I went through for that year and a half. I was being real.

“He was telling me I had to be real. He was just like, ‘That’s the perfect promo, stop trying to be a character right now and just speak your truth’ kind of thing,” Saraya continued.

“He was helping me with that kind of stuff. He really, really did help me. It made me come out of my shell, and made me feel way more comfortable.”

Jon Moxley Set For Huge Title Defence

At NJPW Dominion, Jon Moxley got the better of Evil to retain the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Evil had been gunning for Moxley ever since he won the gold with a win over Tetsuya Naito at NJPW Windy City Riot.

After grabbing the win, Moxley laid down a challenge to anyone who dared face him at Forbidden Door. While the prospect of a match with the champion might not be everyone’s idea of fun, the challenge was quickly answered by Naito.

It was later confirmed Jon Moxley will defend his World Title against Naito at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. The event is set to take place on June 30th.
