Jon Moxley Goes To Extreme Lengths To Make AEW Dynamite
Jon Moxley remains committed to the AEW cause.
On March 19, Tony Khan issued a statement on social media ahead of Dynamite, confirming that the show was going ahead.
Omaha, Nebraska has been struck by bad weather with a blizzard hitting the region. This sparked fears that some members of the AEW roster would be unable to make the taping which will include episodes of Collision set to be broadcast on March 22 and 23. Due to NCAA men’s basketball, the usual two-hour show has been split into two one-hour episodes.
However, the shows are set to go off as advertised, even if some of the wrestlers involved had to go to pretty extreme lengths to make sure that happened.
Jon Moxley Made Sure He Could Defend The World Title
In an update on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez noted that despite the chaos, World Champion Jon Moxley is in attendance after driving for 11 hours to make the show.
“There were several individuals that were supposed to fly in and they couldn’t, so they drove in. So if you didn’t find out about this until this morning, you ain’t getting in brother, it ain’t happening.
I believe Jon Moxley’s one of the people that drove like 11 hours to get to the building because they couldn’t fly in.”
In the main event, Moxley is set to defend the World Championship against Cope in a Street Fight. The winner of that match will go on to face Swerve Strickland at Dynasty on April 6.
Just hours before the show goes on the air, AEW shared a short video of Cope arriving at the arena where he said a blizzard isn’t going to stop him from winning the World Title.
Meanwhile, in another match with huge championship implications, Orange Cassidy, Ricochet, Speedball Mike Bailey, and Mark Davis will clash in a four-way match to determine a new number-one contender for the International Championship. The victor will then challenge Kenny Omega, also at Dynasty.
