Jon Moxley Announced For Final Death Match

Jon Moxley screaming

Jon Moxley has been on Blackpool Combat Club business in AEW in recent weeks, but now the former AEW World Champion will be standing on his own two feet when he returns to New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Moxley was recently part of a huge six-man tag team match as he competed in his first match in Japan in over three years. Moxley teamed with Claudio Castagnoli and Shota Umino but that trio failed to dethrone Kazuchika Okada, Tomohiro Ishii, and Hiroshi Tanahashi for the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championship.

Following that bout, El Desperado laid down a challenge to Jon Moxley but the BCC man only wanted a bout if it could be a tag team affair. On night one of NJPW STRONG Independence Day on July 4th Moxley will team with Homicide to take on Desperado and Jun Kasai in a Doomsday No DQ match, but night two of that event will see a big singles bout take place.

Jon Moxley will face El Desperado one-on-one in a Final Death match on July 5th. That show will also see Eddie Kingston challenge KENTA for the NJPW STRONG Openweight Title. Kingston recently came face-to-face with Moxley after attacking his old enemy Claudio Castagnoli on Dynamite.
