Why John Cena’s WWE Turn Is No Comparison To Hulk Hogan

John Cena

John Cena is a heel in WWE for the first time in over 20 years but one WWE Hall of Famer thinks it’s wrong to compare Cena’s turn to Hulk Hogan’s.

The demise of Hulkamania was completed at Bash at the Beach in 1996 when Hulk Hogan revealed himself as the third man to join Kevin Nash and Scott Hall in trying to take down WCW as the NWO was born.

That seismic turn was brought to mind when John Cena shocked the world when he turned on Cody Rhodes at Elimination Chamber to align with The Rock. But Kevin Nash doesn’t think the two turns are comparable at all.

John Cena No Comparison To Hulk Hogan

Speaking on his Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash explained why he thinks comparing Cena’s turn to Hogan’s is wrong and he thinks Cena’s look at Elimination Chamber gave the surprise away:

I think that this would be really monumental if we didn’t know that Cena was leaving in eight months. John’s great. But John’s too precise on what he does. When he showed up with the no tan [look] at WWE Elimination Chamber, I was just like, okay. Not just no tan, but powder.

It was a giveaway to me that something was up. I don’t know. The people are comparing to Hogan’s turn. I’m like, I disagree. There wasn’t stab you heat in the building in Toronto.

John Cena will be back in WWE on Raw ahead of his WWE Title match with Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 where fans will hope he explains his actions.
