John Cena’s WWE Match Vs. Gunther May Not Be His Last

John Cena on WWE Raw

John Cena is set to fight Gunther tonight at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. However, it might not be his final match.

Earlier this year, the Leader of the Cenation returned to the Stamford-based company to have a one-year-long retirement tour. Cena’s final run saw many turns, including him winning the Undisputed WWE Championship, turning heel, and capturing the Intercontinental Title.

The 17-time world champion is now scheduled to face The Ring General in his retirement match tonight at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The Last Real Champion has insisted that he will never compete again inside the squared circle after his square-off with Gunther.

Ex-WWE Manager Thinks John Cena Could Have One More Match

On his Story Time with Dutch Mantell podcast, the former WWE manager discussed John Cena’s match against Gunther. He proposed a scenario where the Leader of the Cenation would have one more match at WrestleMania 42 or SummerSlam next year.

The 76-year-old suggested an outside interference could cost Cena the match, leading to The Never Seen 17 returning for one more match to get his revenge.

I would try to do something in this match that if Cena loses, which is what I hope they do, but with a scr*wjob, but it’s something that’s believable. So, you can have your last match and then have your last last match. And say if somehow that LA Knight gets involved but it backfires or something, and he ends up doing that to Cena, and they cart him out, which gives Cena one chance to get revenge, even though he said, ‘I’m not gonna have any more matches.’ Then he has one more match and then he actually beats Gunther.
