John Cena Says WWE Would Welcome Hollywood Celebrity Under One Condition

John Cena followed in The Rock’s footsteps and built a career in Hollywood following WWE. However, Hollywood stars can also become WWE Superstars if they want to.

The Champ made his WWE debut in 2002, and worked his way up the industry and even became the face of the company.

Around the mid-2010s, he began his Hollywood transition. Soon, he was more focused on his Hollywood career over WWE, which changed when he announced his Farewell Tour at Money in the Bank 2024.

John Cena believes Idris Elba can come to WWE

Recently, The Franchise Player recently attended the premiere of his upcoming movie, Heads of State, starring Idris Elba and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

During his interview, he was asked about whether Idris Elba could become a part of the WWE ring. The Champ responded by revealing that if Elba had the guts, there is a home for him in WWE.

WWE welcomes anyone, anytime, anywhere. If he’s got the guts, I think we got a home for him.

Celebrity matches are quite common in the global juggernaut, especially for premium live events such as SummerSlam or WrestleMania. Even if not for a full-time role, Idris Elba can work a celebrity match during a premium live event, and that will be one of the top matches on the card!

However, the 52-year-old would have to take that step soon if he wants to share the ring with his Heads of State co-star, as Cena is set to retire by the end of this year.
