John Cena’s WWE TV Return Announced
John Cena hasn’t been on WWE TV since his victory against CM Punk at Night of Champions.
The Champ has been busy with his shooting schedule, while his next challenger is preparing for a SummerSlam 2025 showdown.
Cody Rhodes secured the opportunity to challenge for the Undisputed WWE Championship at The Biggest Party of the Summer by securing the King of the Ring victory.
John Cena and Cody Rhodes will be under one roof soon
The Franchise Player turned heel on Rhodes at Elimination Chamber and dethroned The American Nightmare as the Undisputed WWE Champion at WrestleMania 41. Since then, the duo hasn’t had any rematch. SummerSlam will be the first time the stalwarts will meet in the ring since The Show of Shows.
WWE has confirmed that John Cena will return to WWE TV on next week’s SmackDown on July 18th, 2025. Cody Rhodes will be present on the same show as well, and the champion & challenger are set for a face-to-face confrontation.

Speculations have claimed that The American Nightmare might dethrone John Cena at SummerSlam, and turn heel as well. On the other hand, the defeat can trigger The Leader of Cenation’s babyface turn and finally, a path of redemption ahead of his final match in December 2025.
