John Cena Returning To WWE TV Before WrestleMania 41

John Cena

John Cena is going to appear on WWE television at least one more time before WrestleMania 41.

As the challenger for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41, fans want to see and hear from John Cena before he takes on Cody Rhodes in the WrestleMania 41 Sunday main event.

After Cena’s shocking heel turn at WWE Elimination Chamber, a match Cena won to earn his title shot, Cena didn’t appear on WWE TV for over two weeks.

During his WWE Raw appearances in Brussels, Glasgow and London, John Cena did his best to explain to the fans why he did what he did by kicking Cody Rhodes in the groin to turn heel. In Cena’s opinion, the fans pushed him to do it because they booed him when he was the top babyface in the company, and they didn’t appreciate him for being as great as he was.

On the March 31st WWE Raw episode, Cody Rhodes confronted John Cena in the ring, and the two men got into a promo exchange. After Cody called Cena a “piece of s**t” for his actions, Cena referenced Cody’s past as Cena’s driver to WWE shows and called Cody “an errand boy that got lucky.” Cody replied to that by saying that at least Cody never heard “you can’t wrestle” chants from the fans the way Cena did.

That exchange between Rhodes and Cena was the first time there was physicality during their exchanges. It ended with Cody hitting the Cross Rhodes on Cena as the champion left his challenger lying.

John Cena Appearing On WWE SmackDown Before WrestleMania 41

It has been announced by WWE that John Cena will appear on the final SmackDown before WrestleMania 41 on Friday, April 18th in Las Vegas. Others expected to appear on SmackDown that night include WWE Cody Rhodes, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton, Randy Orton, Bianca Belair, and US Champion LA Knight.

After John Cena said that Cody Rhodes stole the blueprint of being a top guy from Cena, WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley said that the heelish Cena was telling the truth.

“I love that line, because it’s true, and John realizes that. Everything that Cody is doing, John has done before him, uber babyface, shaking hands, kissing babies, being very personable up close with the fans, yada yada.

Doing all of the media, being the first one to the building and the last one to leave, being very interactive with everything that is going on with the company, taking an interest and being invested in your merchandise … he realized that if I ever wanna get to the top of this company, this is the playbook I need to follow.”

After WrestleMania 41, St. Louis will host Backlash on May 10, and it has been confirmed by WWE that John Cena will be there, whether he’s the WWE Champion or not.
