John Cena Surprisingly Advertised For WWE Show In 2026 Despite Retirement

John Cena WWE Yell

John Cena is set to retire in less than two weeks.

The Last Real Champion will wrestle his last match in WWE at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13. He will face the winner of the Last Time is Now tournament in his final bout.

Cena has promised that he’ll not take on any physical wrestling role in WWE post his retirement. He has stated that his body is physically declining, and he made a promise to fans to step away when he felt he lost a step.

Despite stepping away from an active in-ring career, Cena will remain a part of WWE and can still show up for the promotion in non-wrestling roles.

That said, WWE is advertising John Cena for the April 21 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, which will take place after WrestleMania 42.

The show will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Gunther, Rhea Ripley, and Liv Morgan are also advertised for the show.

The Last Time Is Now Tournament Finalists: Who Will Retire John Cena?

On this week’s Monday Night RAW, Gunther defeated Solo Sikoa by unfair means to advance to the finals of the Last Time is Now Tournament.

On the same night, LA Knight beat Jey Uso in the semifinals to secure his spot in the finals alongside The Ring general.

The two finalists will come face-to-face on the upcoming edition of Friday Night to decide who will be the lucky superstar to wrestle the legendary John Cena in the very last match of his illustrious two-decade career.

Gunther is the fan favorite to win the tournament and retire the former Intercontinental Champion. He retired WWE legend Goldberg at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia, earlier this year.

However, The Megastar is determined to win the tournament and face Cena in his last bout. He has pledged to use this opportunity as a springboard to propel himself towards a successful future.
