John Cena Allegedly An Afterthought In His WWE Retirement Tour

WWE John Cena

John Cena had his final RAW appearance on the November 17, 2025, episode of WWE Raw at Madison Square Garden.

He teamed with Rey Mysterio and Sheamus to defeat The Judgment Day (Finn Bálor, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh) in a six-man tag team match.

The WWE Universe enjoyed watching Cena in his final RAW appearance, but something about the night didn’t sit right with WWE veteran Vince Russo.

Russo, who used to be a head writer for WWE, has a sharp eye for detail, and he pointed out that WWE failed to make Cena’s last RAW appearance memorable.

WWE Should’ve Booked A Segment Between John Cena and Brock Lesnar on WWE RAW

Speaking on the Coach and Bro Show, Russo explained Triple H should’ve brought Cena out to the ring when Brock Lesnar made his surprise return on WWE RAW.

If he were to book the show, he would’ve brought out The Last Real Champion to go after The Beast Incarnate to get revenge for WrestlePalooza.

Russo claimed that WWE not using this approach proves that Cena is not a priority and is being overlooked during his retirement tour.

If you’re really writing this story for John Cena, and John Cena is really your number one priority, which he is not.
Here’s why he is not. Because again, if Vince Russo is the writer of this show, and Lesnar bails out of that ring from Roman Reigns, and the attention is here.
Who’s flying down the ramp coming from behind to get his receipt? John Cena. Guys, the fact that you don’t do that tells you Cena is an afterthought in his own retirement tour.
That’s what I mean Coach, not protecting your talent. This is John Cena. The last time we saw him together [with Lesnar], he got killed. Absolutely killed.
That was the moment. Give him the comeback and then figure out where you go from there in the next month or so. (From 40:22)
