Rumoured John Cena WrestleMania Match Unlikely To Happen

The final WrestleMania match of John Cena’s career likely won’t be against a part-time WWE superstar.

John Cena will return to WWE when Raw moves to Netflix on January 6th to kick off his 2025 retirement. Cena has previously announced that 2025 will be his last year competing in the WWE ring with the 16-time WWE World Champion set to compete in match for the entire calendar year.

Since 2025 will be Cena’s last year as an in-ring competitor in WWE, that also means that WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas will be Cena’s last time competing at a WrestleMania. That has led to a lot of speculation about who Cena might face at the next WrestleMania.

One of the names that has been mentioned as a possible Cena opponent at WrestleMania is former WWE US Champion Logan Paul, who has said he wants to face Cena in a match.

When John Cena was a guest on former WWE US Champion Logan Paul’s podcast in January, Cena praised Paul for his work in WWE.

“Me, ten years ago would have been very skeptical, but the business has changed, and because the business has changed and we have better distribution and we’re in more places, the perception of what we can offer has changed. Now, people come to us seeing opportunity and not just what can I take from this place.”

“Right away, with what you were willing to sacrifice in terms of your health and well-being with the moves that you do, I can tell that you give a s**t. That means a lot. You’re not here to just do the thing once. You went from special guest to full-time superstar in five minutes. That’s very refreshing. I think it speaks volumes to you understanding what the WWE can offer and how the WWE has changed.”

WWE Creative Members Disapprove Of John Cena-Logan Paul Match At WrestleMania

In a post on social media, Wrestlevotes reported that while there have been talks of a Cena-Paul match at WrestleMania, it doesn’t seem likely.

“Sources indicate recent rumors of Logan Paul vs. John Cena at WrestleMania have, at the very least, been discussed. However, the idea has been met with resounding disapproval from several within creative. The general feeling is that this shouldn’t be Cena’s final WrestleMania match.”

There will likely be many rumours about who Cena will or will not face at WrestleMania 41 in the weeks and months ahead.
