John Cena Wins After Bizarre Interference At WWE Backlash

John Cena

John Cena and Randy Orton clashed for the last time ever as the Undisputed WWE Championship was on the line at Backlash.

John Cena needed Travis Scott’s help to defeat Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 to become WWE Champion. On Raw in Las Vegas, Cena addressed the crowd as he continued to bury them, especially the ones who chose to cheer him during his battle with Rhodes.

The only thing that shut the champion up was an RKO outta nowhere from Cena’s oldest rival, Randy Orton. Very soon, a title match was made between the two men who have shared a WWE ring over 300 times for Backlash in Orton’s hometown of St. Louis.

John Cena Gets The Best Of Randy Orton

At Backlash, John Cena and Randy Orton went almost 30 minutes in a match marred by ref bumps. Orton had the bout one but an absence of a referee foiled him in the quest to win the WWE Championship. At one point, his frustration boiled over and he nailed SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis with another RKO as he checked one of his officials.

Randy Orton had John Cena set up to deliver a vicious punt, but improbably, R-Truth came to Cena’s aid, begging Orton not to take out his childhood hero. Orton gave Truth an RKO but that gave enough time for Cena to recover and hit a low blow as well as a title belt shot as Cena retained the gold.
