John Cena vs. AJ Styles Set For WWE SummerSlam; Intercontinental Title Match Added Too

TJR Wrestling

Tonight’s (August 2) edition of Smackdown Live set up two more matches for World Wrestling Entertainment’s “Biggest Party of the Summer”, SummerSlam on August 21.

One of those matches will be a rematch from June’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view event, when fifteen time WWE World Champion John Cena takes on “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles. Cena lost in their first bout thanks to Styles illegally receiving help from his fellow “Club” members Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

The second match that has been added to SummerSlam is a one-on-one contest for the Intercontinental Title. That match will see Intercontinental Champion The Miz take on newly crowned number one contender Apollo Crews. Crews defeated Baron Corbin and Kalisto in a triple threat match during Smackdown Live to earn his number one contender spot.

As of right now, SummerSlam’s lineup is as follows. The order listed below is the order in which the matches are listed on WWE.com.

Please note that (c) refers to the champion/s heading into the match.
