John Cena Gave Verbal Lashing To Former WWE Champion For Bizarre Comment
A strange remark by former WWE superstar Matt Riddle led to John Cena delivering a “verbal lashing” of sorts to the bro.
During his WWE career, Matt Riddle was a unique individual who frequently used the word “bro” and often delivered rambling promos to showcase his distinct personality.
Riddle was able to achieve some success in WWE as a former US Champion and Tag Team Champion before his September 2023 release, following five years in the company.
While Riddle was in WWE, John Cena was mainly a part-timer, but they did have some interesting conversations. That’s according to Riddle, who told Going Ringside in an interview that a smartass remark angered the WWE legend Cena.
“I’ve worked with Cena. I like working with Cena. He was a great guy, a nice guy, professional. Yeah, I mean, we’ve had our little tiffs. The first time I met, I accidentally said I thought he would be bigger. I don’t think he likes being called small, which isn’t what I said, but I thought he’d be bigger.
He kind of gave me a verbal lashing back and forth. He gave me crap for being the king of bros, tried to get me to explain what that was, and no answer was good enough for John Cena.
But I think he’s doing great and I’m happy for him. “
Riddle went on to say that he thinks Cena will wrestle again after his retirement tour.
John Cena Looking To Bounce Back After Money In The Bank Loss
The WWE Champion John Cena suffered a big loss at the Money in the Bank PLE when Cody Rhodes pinned him. There was a chaotic finish to the tag team match between Cena and Logan Paul against Rhodes and Jey Uso, the World Heavyweight Champion.
After Logan Paul hit a moonsault from the middle ropes onto Jey Uso through the commentary table, the referee checked on both men. While that was happening, Cena hit Cody in the head with the WWE Title to knock Cody down. That’s when somebody ran into the ring to punch Cena a few times. It was a wrestler in a hoodie. The wrestler was R-Truth, so the fans cheered when Truth revealed himself. Truth hit Cena with the WWE Title in the head! Cole mentioned that people thought Truth had left the company. Cody hit Cena with a Cross Rhodes for the pinfall win.
Since Cody pinned Cena in a tag team match, it could lead to Cody facing Cena for the WWE Title soon. Cena will also likely seek revenge against R-Truth, who has signed a new deal with WWE and will likely be referred to as Ron Killings in the future.
John Cena will be on the June 9th edition of WWE Monday Night in Phoenix to address everything going on in his career.
