John Cena Exposed Triple H’s Lie On WWE SmackDown
John Cena was sending a message to Triple H as he addressed the attack by Brock Lesnar that he suffered at WWE SummerSlam.
Despite being named 44 times in the ongoing lawsuit filed against WWE and Vince McMahon, Brock Lesnar made his shock return at SummerSlam. Lesnar laid out John Cena just moments after Cena had lost the WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes.
Triple H immediately laid the blame for Brock Lesnar’s comeback at John Cena’s feet, claiming that Cena gave him a wish list of opponents for his final year as a WWE Superstar. However, John Cena made clear that was not the case, and on Raw, Michael Cole noted that Triple H and Nick Khan had spoken to Lesnar several weeks before SummerSlam, indicating it was time for him to return.
John Cena Gave In-Ring Response To Triple H
Speaking on Notsam Wrestling, WWE broadcaster Sam Roberts thinks John Cena was directly addressing Triple H’s remarks by asking why he or anyone else would ever want to really get in the ring with an animal such as Brock Lesnar:
First of all, before we go any further, he addresses Brock Lesnar. It’s interesting because on the post-show, Triple H said John Cena wanted this, and we made it happen, whatever it was. John Cena on SmackDown, almost responding to that, said, “In what universe would I choose at this point in my career to have Brock Lesnar as an opponent?” So he’s taking that narrative and throwing it out the window.
John Cena will face Logan Paul at Clash In Paris, but it seems he won’t have to wait too long to get in the ring with Lesnar one last time. WWE is planning a show to run head-to-head with AEW All Out, with Cena vs. Lesnar set to headline.
