John Cena Thanks Triple H After WWE Crown Jewel Bombshell
John Cena will be wrestling a familiar face when WWE returns to Australia.
It’s been announced that John Cena will face AJ Styles at Crown Jewel in Australia on October 11.
The announcement came after Cena posted multiple messages on social media aimed at Triple H, saying that he wanted to wrestle Styles one more time before he retires. For his part, Styles said he was more than ready to face Cena if and when the match was made.
The pair had a lengthy rivalry through 2016 and into 2017, with their last singles match coming in February 2018.
John Cena Gives Credit To Triple H
Following the announcement, Cena quickly thanked Triple H on social media while crediting fans for helping push the change in direction. He added that Styles will be getting his everything come the big night in Perth.
“I want to thank @TripleH for being flexible here and rewarding the true driving force behind #CenavsStyles .. the FANS! 2 posts over 10m views and so many of you let yourself be heard! #WWECrownJewel Perth and @AJStylesOrg you will get my everything. Listening to our audience is ALWAYS what’s BEST for business! I am forever grateful to you all for choosing my next opponent. LFG!!”
Despite his regular public claims to the contrary, John Cena is choosing his final opponents. As reported by Dave Meltzer, when discussing a potential match between Styles and Cena before the announcement from Triple H, he noted that it would happen if that’s what Cena wanted.
Also at the event, Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes will battle for the men’s Crown Jewel Championship, while Stephanie Vaquer will meet the Women’s Champion for the women’s Crown Jewel Championship. Jade Cargill and Nia Jax are set to challenge Tiffany Stratton for the gold on the September 26 edition of SmackDown.
