John Cena Picks Surprising Choice For Toughest WWE Match Of His Career

John Cena

John Cena has explained his choice for the toughest match of his iconic WWE career.

John Cena has shared the ring with the great and good of WWE over the past 20 years. Cena bled profusely during an I Quit match for the WWE Championship against JBL, he withstood TLC with Edge, was taken to Suplex City in one of the most one-sided WWE main events in history by Brock Lesnar, and tore a muscle while tangling with Mr. Kennedy on Raw.

But all of those pale into comparison when it came to Cena coming face-to-face with himself.

John Cena’s Toughest Match Came At WrestleMania 36

Speaking to Justin Barrasso during an interview at Fan Expo Boston, John Cena gave his choice for the toughest match of his career, and it was one of the most unique:

It’s the match I had in the Firefly Fun House. The reason that opponent was tough–and I know it was against Bray Wyatt–was because that was more or less a match against me. I’ll say that was my toughest match.

Due to the global COVID pandemic, WrestleMania 36 was held behind closed doors and saw John Cena clash with Bray Wyatt in a cinematic Firefly Fun House. The unique bout saw Cena explore his darker side as he joined the NWO, and was taken back to different moments of his career.

John Cena will face Logan Paul at Clash in Paris in one of the final bouts of his WWE career as he brings the curtain down in December 2025.
