John Cena To Be Part Of WWE After Retirement
John Cena isn’t leaving WWE.
At Money In The Bank John Cena stunned fans by announcing his retirement. While Cena hasn’t hidden the fact the end of his career is near, the announcement still came from left field and actually created more questions than answers
Some of these were addressed at the post-show press conference with the 16-time World Champion confirming he won’t retire at WrestleMania 41, instead insisting his retirement tour will last from January to December.
The star even hinted he’d be opening to winning the World Championship for what would be a record-breaking 17th time.
John Cena isn’t Leaving WWE
Meanwhile, a new report from Fightful Select has offered an insight into Cena’s latest appearance and future plans.
Fightful notes that many stars backstage didn’t realise Cena was retiring until they saw him wearing his “The Last Time Is Now” merchandise. That being said, several people within the company did know the news was coming, but the information was kept very quiet.
Cena is expected to be around WWE “fairly often” in 2025, and the retirement tour will be heavily promoted. There’s been talk about how many dates he’ll be available, and the company is expecting him to have “a number” of non-wrestling obligations.
Furthermore, WWE remains adamant Cena will continue to appear on-screen following his in-ring retirement.
Fightful adds that several talents have, or are planning to, pitch involvement in the retirement tour.
