John Cena Signed With WWE Past 2025

John Cena

John Cena is staying with WWE.

At Money In The Bank, John Cena stunned fans around the world by announcing he’s planning to retire. After some confusion, Cena explained at the post-show press conference that he won’t be retiring at WrestleMania 41, and instead, will end his career after a year-long retirement tour.

Cena has since revealed he wants to wrestle around 36 dates before finally hanging up his jorts.

The veteran began his career in 1999 before signing with WWE the following year. Cena made his main roster debut on SmackDown in 2002 and after some initial stumbles went on to become one of the biggest stars the industry has ever seen. The wrestler-turned-actor has wrestled at least once every year since making his debut.

John Cena Isn’t Leaving WWE Behind

Despite his impending retirement, Cena revealed in an interview with Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay that he’s signed a new WWE contract.

“I have such a trustworthy relationship with them. Over two decades. I am a champion of the brand. I love the company. It is my home. They are my family. Even after 2025, I’ve already signed an extension to remain a member of the WWE family for the near, mid, and long-term future. I don’t think there will be a beat of my heart where WWE blood doesn’t come out of it,”

Speaking elsewhere, John Cena said there’s no way he’ll get back in the ring after he retires in December 2025.
