John Cena Reveals Heartwarming Story Behind Falling In Love With Shay Shariatzadeh

John Cena shared a heartwarming story about how he met his wife.

As a popular wrestler and movie star, Cena’s past relationships were always in the public eye. In fact, his breakup with fellow wrestler Nikki Bella was hugely publicized.

When Cena started receiving multiple Hollywood offers, his personal life took a backseat in the media. So, naturally, when the news of his private marriage to Shay Shariatzadeh broke out, it caused a furore.

The current WWE Undisputed Champion appeared on Stephanie McMahon’s show, Stephanie’s Places, which was shot at the legendary Hard Nocks South gym, owned by Cena himself.

John Cena Couldn’t Take His Eyes Off Of Shay

Cena detailed how he met his future wife, Shay, in Vancouver, Canada, by accident.

It was Super Bowl, about six years ago (2019). Patriots were playing and I didn’t wanna leave my apartment in Vancouver. I had just got there and had started to film a movie, and didn’t want to jinx the team.

He explained how he eventually went to watch the game at a bar, and that’s where he met Shay.

In walks a group of four, and I can’t take my eyes off of Shay. They are in the booth right across from us…and my team is winning and I don’t give a f**k. And I don’t have the bravery to break the ice.

He also revealed that it was only after one of Shay’s friends approached him for a picture that the ice was broken.

The same evening, Cena had expressed to Shay his desire to spend time with her, to which she agreed.

We met back at the same place. And we sat down at six and they kicked us out at one in the morning. Just me and her.

Since marrying Shay in 2020, Cena has made various media appearances with his bride by his side.
