John Cena Reflects On Unique Match – “Giant Exercise In Vulnerability”
John Cena has given his thoughts on one of the strangest matches he’s even been a part of.
Throughout his 20-or-so-year career, John Cena has been in many different matches against many different opponents. But there’s one match that was so unique it left him stumped: Bray Wyatt’s Firefly Funhouse match.
Some might question if it was even a wrestling match in the first place. Because it took place under COVID restrictions and there were no live fans, Bray Wyatt and John Cena were able to do something creative and filled with smoke and mirrors.
Three years after losing to Wyatt in that match, John Cena reflected on what kind of experience it was in an interview with 92NY.
According to Cena, because the match was so unique, he found it to be one of the most rewarding experiences of his career. He also confirmed that the idea wasn’t Bray’s, but his.
“I did a unique piece of programming called the Firefly Funhouse match, which was a giant exercise in vulnerability. I worked my a** off on that thing, and I thank everyone who was involved, because no one does it alone, but it was kind of my brainchild and my creation.”
