John Cena Shares Ominous Warning For Cody Rhodes
Heavy is the head that wears the crown and John Cena has warned Cody Rhodes exactly what that means as he now holds the WWE Championship.
At WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes finished his story by defeating Roman Reigns to win the WWE Championship. The title match was a wild affair that saw everyone from Jimmy Uso to The Undertaker interfere as Rhodes had help to neutralize the full force of The Bloodline.
One of those men who came to Cody Rhodes’ assistance was the sixteen-time champion of the world John Cena. Cena took out Solo Sikoa and dropped Roman Reigns with an Attitude Adjustment before The Rock wiped his former WrestleMania rival out with a Rock Bottom.
Cena was part of the celebrations after the match as the locker room emptied to stand alongside The American Nightmare with his friends and family.
John Cena Wants Cody Rhodes To Be Greatest Of All Time
Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, John Cena revealed that as well as joining in with the festivities, he had to issue a warning to Cody Rhodes now that he holds the richest prize in pro wrestling:
I told him in the ring [at WrestleMania XL], I’m sure he’ll relay this message, when I got to embrace him, he had the championship in his right hand. I said, ‘Do you feel that?’ He said, ‘Yes.’ ‘Do you feel how heavy it is?’ ‘Yes.’ I said, ‘It will get heavier every day.’ That is the burden you bear trying to craft the path to being the greatest of all time.
I hope, and this should be the goal for the business, every performer should pass the torch up. I hope a year from now, two years from now, three years from now, we can all sit here and be an advocate that Cody Rhodes is the greatest of all time. That’s the way it should work.
John Cena shocked fans at Raw when he competed in his first televised match on the red brand in over five years when he teamed with The Awesome Truth to take on The Judgment Day.
