John Cena Giving WWE Fans A Gift According To Nikki Bella
The John Cena WWE heel turn has got everybody talking, even his ex-fiancee Nikki Bella.
Wrestling fans saw a new side of John Cena at WWE Elimination Chamber when he turned heel by attacking Cody Rhodes with a low blow kick. Cena went on to beat up Rhodes with the help of “The Final Boss” The Rock and Travis Scott.
What that means is that when Cena faces Rhodes for the WWE Title at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, Cena will be the heel while Rhodes will be the face. It’s a role that a lot of fans have never seen Cena in since the last time he was a heel was in 2003.
Nikki Bella is a WWE Hall of Famer who dated and was engaged to John Cena in the 2010s. The couple’s private life was shown heavily on the “Total Divas” and “Total Bellas” reality shows while Cena and Nikki even won a mixed tag team match at WrestleMania together. John and Nikki split up in 2018.
While speaking to TK Trinidad, Nikki’s twin sister Brie Bella said she was happy about John Cena going heel.
“About time. I’m actually really happy because this is his farewell year, and I didn’t know if he’d give it or not. So, I love it and the way it was done. I mean, chef’s kiss.”
Nikki Bella Thinks John Cena’s Heel Turn “Is So Cool”
In her comments to TK Trinidad, Nikki Bella remarked that Cena’s turn is a gift to wrestling fans who have wanted to see him in a heel role for a long time.
“It was done so well. I think to end your farewell tour and turn into a character that the fans have wanted for so long. It’s not only, I think, going to be fun for him, but how great for the fans. It’s like a gift he’s giving. You know what I mean? I think it’s so cool. It was amazing, too.”
As Nikki mentioned, John Cena is going to retire as an in-ring performer in 2025 and he’s expected to compete in the ring many more times throughout the year. Cena is expected to appear on the March 17th edition of WWE Monday Night Raw to address his heelish actions for the first time.
