John Cena Named “Gold Standard” By Top WWE Star
John Cena’s role in WWE has been praised by one of the company’s biggest superstars.
When it comes to winning World Championships in WWE, John Cena stands atop the list with 17 World WWE Titles after breaking his tie with Ric Flair at WrestleMania 41 earlier this year.
Another Flair is on Cena’s heels in terms of title reigns. That would be Charlotte Flair, who is a 14-time Women’s World Champion in WWE, in addition to two reigns as the NXT Women’s Champion.
At WWE Survivor Series in San Diego, John Cena lost his final WWE PLE match against Dominik Mysterio thanks to the interference of Liv Morgan. At the same event, Charlotte Flair was part of the winning team in the Women’s WarGames Match.
On the post-Survivor Series show with Sam Roberts and Megan Morant, Charlotte Flair spoke about Cena’s greatness as a WWE superstar.
“He’s just the gold standard. The way he interacts with the audience, one minute they’re saying ‘Let’s go Cena, Cena sucks,’ and then getting the whole crowd standing up on their feet.”
What he does with Make-A-Wish, what he’s able to do with his opponents, his charisma, his work ethic, his love for the business, he’s just the total package of what it means to be a WWE superstar.”
John Cena Pays Tribute To Ring Announcer Alicia Taylor
Charlotte Flair wasn’t the only one praising Cena because ring announcer Alicia Taylor also wrote a message about being in the ring to announce Cena’s final match.
#SurvivorSeries was my final @JohnCena announcement! It has been an absolute honor to share the ring w “The Greatest of ALL-TIME” on his @WWE #FarewellTour #ThankYouCena 🫡
In response to that, the always humble John Cena thanked Taylor and reminded all of us that WWE is a team effort.

John Cena’s final WWE match will be at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th when he faces the winner of the Last Time Is Now Tournament, which has four men left. Gunther faces Solo Sikoa in one semifinal while Jey Uso faces LA Knight in the other semifinal, with both matches set for the December 1st episode of Raw. Gunther is expected to be the winner, but those plans could change.
