John Cena May Surprisingly Wrestle Twice At WWE SNME
John Cena’s illustrious in-ring WWE career is coming to an end, making it seem like the end of an era for the company. For over a decade, Cena was the face of the company and seemed synonymous with World Wrestling Entertainment.
However, he is now set to finally hang up his boots at Saturday Night’s Main Event next month. WWE is hosting the ‘Last Time is Now’ tournament to determine who his final opponent is going to be, with some big names already a part of the tournament.
While Gunther is seen by many as the favorite to win the tournament, former WWE wrestler, Mark Henry claims that John Cena might wrestle twice on his final appearance.
Joe Hendry wants to face former WWE Champion John Cena
Former TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Joe Hendry, recently signed a full-time contract with WWE. He has made it clear in the past that he wants to face John Cena before he retires but that hasn’t happened yet. Speaking on TMZ’s Inside The Ring podcast, Mark Henry said that he can see Hendry coming out and just laying on the mat for Cena to pin him.
“Even if it was Gunther, I would be satisfied, but then I still would want dessert. I would want Joe Hendry to come out and say, I didn’t make it in the tournament but before you leave, I want you to allow me the privilege of being in the ring with you. When Joe Hendry gets in the ring, you would thing that John would be like, ‘Listen man, I’m done, I just had my last match.’ John is a soldier and I would have Joe Hendry say, ‘John, I don’t want to fight you. I wanted to have a match with you because I wanted to do this’ and have Joe Hendry lay down on his back and tell John Cena to cover me so I had a match with you and you beat me on my record.” Henry said. While almost all slots for the tournament have been filled, Sheamus’ injury has made an opening for a surprise entry into the tournament. Hendry could still enter the tournament as LA Knight’s mystery opponent for Tuesday and go on to win the whole thing.
