John Cena May Drop Undisputed WWE Title To Unexpected Legend

John Cena

John Cena will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against CM Punk at Night of Champions. However, the odds are in The Franchise Player’s favor.

With less than 20 dates left, WWE will soon need to take the championship off The Leader of Cenation. It is unlikely the wrestling juggernaut will create an angle where Cena actually leaves WWE with the Undisputed WWE Championship.

The Best in the World is a great pick for dethroning him, but that might not happen at Night of Champions. A match between Cena and Punk at Night of Champions is a great way to boost sales and viewership, but it is not a storyline built enough to dethrone the champion.

John Cena can be dethroned by his former rival

The Franchise Player’s dethroning needs to be as shocking and unexpected as his heel turn. It needs to be a superstar who the fans could never predict as John Cena’s successor.

During an episode of Cheap Heat with Peter Rosenberg, he explains that Ron Killings (fka R-Truth) still has the capacity to have one world championship title run, even if he is above 50 years of age. In fact, he could be the one to dethrone Cena.

I would love to see Ron Killings get a world championship. It would work. I know I have talked about it. R-Truth getting a run with the title even at this age would work. It would be awesome. I see a bunch of people now saying that now that we are seeing how organic this, now that we are seeing the stats which is saying his segment got more views than Cena and Punk. Yo, maybe he is the guy to dethrone John Cena. I am not saying he is, but I am not saying he is not.

The match between Cena and R-Truth at Saturday Night’s Main Event was a non-title match. R-Truth accepted that because he was kind and forgiving. Ron Killings is not. He is different from R-Truth, and if booked against John Cena, he will demand a world championship match.
