Huge John Cena Match Announced For WWE SmackDown Next Week

John Cena is set to square off with a multi-time champion next week on WWE SmackDown.

Last night on SmackDown, The Franchise kicked off the show, bragging about how he is a thousand steps ahead of everyone.

After detailing his plan to reach this point, which he claimed started a year earlier, he stated that Mr. Money in the Bank, Seth Rollins, would never cash in on him because The Visionary allegedly wants him to walk away with the title so he would be the only champion when he cashes in.

Cena was then interrupted by Cody Rhodes, before Randy Orton and LA Knight also joined them in the ring. As the Undisputed WWE Champion retreated, he was attacked on the stage by Ron Killings. Officials and security had to interfere and separate the two.

The 48-year-old later headed to the ring again to call out Killings. However, he was confronted by his Night of Champions opponent, CM Punk.

However, the segment ended with Killings again attacking Cena from behind, even applying an STF on the 48-year-old legend in the middle of the ring.

SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis then approached Killings backstage and told him he could not just let him continue to jump Cena on his show, asking him what he wanted.

The 53-year-old requested a match against the Undisputed WWE Champion next week on SmackDown, which Aldis made official.

Could Ron Killings dethrone John Cena?

While John Cena’s match against Ron Killings next week on SmackDown is not a title match, WWE personality Peter Rosenberg did not rule out the possibility of the 53-year-old being the one to end The Franchise Player’s championship reign.

Speaking on his Cheap Heat podcast, he claimed it would be awesome for Killings to have a world title run at his current age.

I would love to see Ron Killings get a world championship. It would work. I know I have talked about it. R-Truth getting a run with the title even at this age would work. It would be awesome. I see a bunch of people now saying that now that we are seeing how organic this, now that we are seeing the stats which is saying his segment got more views than Cena and Punk. Yo, maybe he is the guy to dethrone John Cena. I am not saying he is, but I am not saying he is not.
